Our House Scones!

3 C flour

1/3 C superfine sugar

2 T baking powder

1/4 t salt

Sift for best resullts

2 eggs beaten

3/4-1 C whole milk or heavy cream

1 T vanilla

1/2 C of butter

Sift dry ingredients. Cut in cold butter until crumbly and fine. Stir in fruit pieces, chocolate, etc that you wish.

Pour in eggs, vanilla and milk. Stir quickly, knead lightly until it comes together and roll on floured surface. Roll to 1 inch thick or slightly less. Cut with 3 inch circle cutter and place on parchment paper cookie sheet. Brush with egg wash.

Preheat oven to 450. Put scones in and turn down to 425 and bake 12 minutes.
